32 days!!!!!!!

but who is counting....ME! i got out our halloween decorations this morning and started putting stuff up. if you aren't familiar, i am OBSESSED with halloween. not the scary blood dripping halloween, but the fun magical halloween, oh and we have WAY more halloween decorations than christmas.

so i am putting up the halloween village on the pot shelves this year so the "little hands" can't get to it. and i decided that we need WAY more outside decorations!!!

but, the sad part? last year i bought some of the those mini pumpkins and gourds to mix in with my fakers, but i must have gotten them mixed up. i opened the first rubbermade bin, and wondered to myself...hmmm, THAT smells odd. i looked in, and OH! 11 months worth of mold covered EVERYTHING!!!!!!!!!! i had put in some real mini pumpkins and they rotted....ugh! it was on my placemats, candle holders, my cute little "s'mores" tree where the marshmallow guys are in halloween gear...all over garland and so much more. i am totally bummed.

anyway, just stuff i guess...but my HALLOWEEN stuff!!!!

but i did find something cool on the web that i HAVE TO HAVE!
black vodka and they have halloween recipes....totally cool!

new stuff that i am drooling over...and there is SOOOOOOOO much more:

gimme a beer and a butterfly cracker

tim's cousin's services were over the weekend...we traveled to CA for them...
Caleb C. Haskell 1978-2006...your wife and family miss you...
the services were unbelievably beautiful.

so we found out that newcastle was his FAVORITE beer...he would not have any other kind...a good friend from childhood got the newcastle logo tattooed on his arm, replacing
"newcastle" with caleb's name and "brown ale" with the years his life spanned.

after the services on the way to the reception, tim and i discussed how tim loves newcastle, but is too frugal to buy it. but that it was on sale this past sunday (the day after caleb passed) and tim bought some. as we were talking about this in the car, a beer delivery truck passed us. now we see these all of the time, budwieser, miller, coors....but the truck was not from these companies...oh no....it was a newcastle truck.

after caleb's father got the news, he sat on his front porch, on the phone to someone offering condolences. a white butterfly landed on the porch next to him, and flapped his wings for the duration of the call, then flew away. later that evening, as family was around, a little girl wandered aabout, munching on crackers. caleb's father told the little girl that he could sure use one. she brought one over and placed it on his knee. it was a butterfly. as we entered the property of the church for the services, a white butterfly circled tim and i. and i am not kidding when i tell you that as we left, in exactly the same spot, a white butterfly passed us. and as we sat in the backyard of caleb's parent's house with friends and family of caleb, another white butterfly visited the backyard.
